ORDER
The instant Writ Petition is filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.03.2025 and release the family pension to her.
2. Mr.N.Naveen Kumar, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the time of admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has sent a representation dated 17.03.2025 claiming family pension. It is the further submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that her husband one K.Pandurangan, served as a Police Officer from 27.02.1986 to 31.08.2016 at the third respondent police station. After superannuation on 31.08.2016, he died on 13.05.2024. Therefore, the representation of the petitioner claiming family pension is pending before the respondents.
4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would strongly object the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner stating that the petitioner has divorced from her husband viz., K.Pandurangan and in the pension record, the name of his daughter and son
were found place. Therefore, the petitioner is not entitled for pension.
5. However, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2025 would be considered within a reasonable time.
6. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
7. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2025 and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
8. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 18.06.2025 : Yes/No Speaking/non-speaking order mn
