Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to forthwith restrain the installation, erection and commissioning of the mobile/cell phone tower on the land bearing Survey No.169/2B2, Mecheri Village, Salem District.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This petition, styled as public interest litigation, is apparently misconceived. The petitioner's grievance is that installation, erection

and commissioning of the mobile/cell phone tower on a public land would be against public interest.

2. The contents of the petition, if we may say so, lack proper information and details. How it is adverse to public interest has not been clearly stated. No material has been placed on record. The contents of the petition also do not show that installation is against the provisions of any law or proposed on a land on which such activity is prohibited under any law. In sum and substance, the petition is bereft of any material.
