O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been laid seeking for a direction to the respondent police to file the final report in Crime No.533/2012 on the file of the respondent.

2. Based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the case in Crime No.533/2012 has been registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 409, 420, and 506(ii) IPC. Now the grievance of the petitioner is that, despite the registration of the FIR in the year 2012, no progress has been made by the respondent to complete the investigation and file the final report and hence claiming for appropriate direction, according to the petitioner, he has been necessitated to lay this Criminal Original Petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. At the time when the matter is taken up for hearing, the Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that a suitable direction may be given to the respondent to complete the investigation within a stipulated time and file the final report in accordance with law.

4. Considering the abovesaid factors, in the fitness of things and in the interest of justice, I am of the considered opinion that the respondent should be directed to complete the investigation and file the final report as per law within a particular time frame.

5. Taking into consideration the abovesaid factors, the respondent police is directed to conclude the investigation in Crime No.533/2012 and file the final report before the jurisdictional court in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
