The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pass necessary orders for promotion of the petitioner from the cadre of Draughtsman Grade III (Junior Drafting Officer) to Draughtsman Grade - II, (Drafting Officer) as per G.O.Ms.No.210 P&A dated 11.03.1987 with effect from June 2012 and consequently direct the respondents to disburse the retirement benefits amount based on the upgraded post of Drafting Officer Draughtsman - II.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner joined the service as a Tracer in the respondents' Corporation on 07.08.1986 and was promoted as Junior Drafting Officer Grade - III in the year 1992, and retired from service on 31.03.2018. Even though he was eligible for promotion to the post of Draughtsman Grade-II (Drafting Officer) from June 2012, as per G.O.Ms.No.210 P & A dated 11.03.1987, he was not given the said promotion. The petitioner has submitted several representations dated 25.10.2012, 10.12.2017 and 31.03.2025 respectively, but the same were not considered by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner 2/4
has filed this writ petition.
3. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents fairly submits that they would consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2025 within a reasonable time.
4. This Court has given anxious consideration to either side submissions and perused the materials available on record.
5. In such a view of the matter, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.03.2025 and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order according to its own merits and in accordance with law.
6. In the result, this writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
