ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the first respondent to release the lorry bearing registration No. TN-33-AK-9942 seized by the second respondent on 17.06.2022. 1/4

On perusal of records and counter filed by the first respondent revealed that the second respondent had not seized the petitioner's lorry. The Special Tahsildar, Flying Squad, Krishnagiri has seized the lorry on 17.06.2022 during vehicle check up conducted on 17.06.2022 at Krishnagiri to Hosur National Highways. The vehicle was found in possession of 396 bags of rice. The driver of the vehicle had no valid records or permit to transport the rice in the vehicle. It was later found that the rice was intended to a fair price shop. Thereafter, FIR was registered on the file of the second respondent in crime No.92 of 2022 for the offence under Section 6(4)(2)(1)(a) (11) of the Tamilnadu Essential Commodities Act. Now enquiry is under progress. Therefore, after completion of enquiry, final order will be passed. 3.

In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to pass final order on the seizure of the vehicle of the petitioner bearing registration No. TN-33-AK-9942 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
