Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the first respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's daughter, namely, Priya, minor, aged about 17 years, before this Hon'ble Court and set her at liberty. O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by S.Nagamuthu,J.) Petitioner is the father of one Priya, whose date of birth is 20.07.1998. She was studying in a Government College at Mannargudi. According to the petitioner, his daughter, namely, Priya was missing from 23.04.2016 and he also lodged a complaint to the first respondent police. Since she was not traced out by the first respondent, the petitioner has come out with this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when this Habeas Corpus Petition was taken up for hearing, the first respondent produced the detenue. When we enquired her, she told that she was staying in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Tiruppur and working in a company for quite sometime on her own volition and, on attaining majority, on 05.08.2016, she contacted one Kannadasan, for whom she had love. According to her, she married Kannadasan on 08.08.2016 and, from that day onwards, she has been living with him, as his wife. She has further stated that she is not illegally detained by anyone. The said statement is recorded.

3. Having regard to the statement made by the detenue, we are unable to grant the relief prayed for in this Habeas Corpus Petition, which is, accordingly, dismissed.
