ORDER
This petition is filed to direct VII Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, to expeditiously try Criminal M.P.No.1010 of 2025 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law.
2. Already, the Honourable Supreme Court had given direction to the 1 / 3
High Courts not to give any time limit with direction and pressurise the trial Court for quick disposal of the case. The Supreme Court, in the case of Sangram Sadashiv Suryavanshi Vs. The State of Maharashtra, in Crl.A.No.4758 of 2024 (arising out SLP(Crl).No.13366 of 2024), by order dated 25.11.2024, had directed the High Courts not to give such time limit for completion of trial and dispose of the case.
3. Hence, this petition is dismissed. However, the learned VII Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, is directed to follow the above direction of the Supreme Court by disposal of the case as expeditiously as possible. 30.06.2025 cs To The VIIth Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai. 2 / 3
