Mr.D.Suriyanarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal preferred by her on 13.12.2017, wherein and whereby, the petitioner challenged the order of the second respondent refusing to grant legal heir certificate to the petitioner, by claiming that she is the wife of the deceased S.Palanivelu, who died on 13.13.2002, leaving behind her and her children as legal heirs.

3. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the said appeal, as it is for the first respondent to consider an decide the same. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 13.12.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance of law, after hearing the petitioner as well as the other opposite parties. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
