[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the second respondent/police to produce the petitioner's daughter viz., Selvi, aged about 44 years, before this Court from the illegal custody of the third respondent and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Selvi, aged about 44 years, went missing from 24.06.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

Today G.Parthiban (Mobile No.94981 28203), SubInspector of Police, K-10, Koyambedu Police Station, Chennai, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by Krishnan, husband of Selvi, a case in Koyambedu Police Station Crime No.608 of 2021 was registered on 25.06.2021 for 'woman missing' and during enquiry, it came to light that Selvi has eloped with Kolanjinathan, third respondent herein.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Koyambedu, to supervise the investigation in Koyambedu Police Station Crime No.608 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Selvi, aged about 44 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the V Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
