Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

This Writ Petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits namely commutation of pension amount and CRBS amount to the petitioner at the rate of 6% per annum, for the period from 31.08.2018 that is the date of retirement to till the date of settlement.

3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents fairly submits that, in all the connected matters, this Court has consistently allowed the payment with interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

4. In that view of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) the respondents are directed calculate and disburse the interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated payment of terminal benefits, viz., commutation of pension amount and CRBS amount at the rate of 6% per annum from the date it became due till the date of disbursement to the petitioner within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order with interest; and (ii) if the amount is not paid within a period of twelve (12) weeks, thereafter, the same shall carry the interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date it became due till the date of disbursement. There shall be no order as to costs.
