PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records from the 3rd respondent relating to the notification for the Constitution of Selection Committee for suggesting the names of the panel of Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University bearing Ref:Lr.No.PU/ESST/R6/011258/2020-1 of the 3rd Respondent as published in the Tamilnadu Government Gazette dated 21.10.2020 read with his communication of the 3rd Respondent bearing Ref.No.Lr.No.PU/ESST/R6/011258/2020-4 dated 23.10.2020 and communication bearing Ref: Lr.No.PU/ESST/ R6/011258/2020-9 dated 13.11.

2020 claiming that the Respondents 9 & 10 were the Syndicate and Senate Nominee respectively and all consequential proceedings and quash the same as illegal, arbitrary, malafide and to consequently direct the 3rd Respondent to conduct election to select the Nominee of Syndicate and the Senate of the 3rd Respondent University by strictly following Section 12 of the Periyar University Act read with Statute 9 and 10 of the Periyar University Statute by giving proper opportunity to all the Syndicate/Senate member to submit nomination, elect the nominee for the selection committee for selecting the Vice Chancellor to the 3rd Respondent University. This Writ Petition has been filed to call for the records from the 3rd respondent relating to the notification for the Constitution of Selection Committee for suggesting the names of the panel of Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University bearing Ref:Lr.No.PU/ESST/R6/011258/2020-1 of the 3rd Respondent as published in the Tamilnadu Government Gazette dt.21.10.2020 read with his communication of the 3rd Respondent bearing

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for both parties agreed that the matter has become infructuous.

3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
