The Petitioner was serving as a Special Sub Inspector of Police and was placed under suspension on 27.02.2020, just a day before the age of superannuation on 28.02.2020.

2. The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner was punished pursuant to an order of the State Human Rights Commissioner on 05.07.2018 wherein, the Petitioner was directed to pay a sum https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of Rs.50,000/- to the complainant one S.Rajadurai which has been complied with. The learned Senior Counsel further submits that the Petitioner has co-operated with the departmental authorities in the Disciplinary Proceedings and as of 07.09.2021 already four witnesses have been examined on behalf of the Department and only two more witnesses have to be examined. The learned Senior Counsel further pointed out that since the Petitioner has already attained the age of superannuation and is merely receiving provisional pension, the Departmental proceedings may be completed within a time frame and the Petitioner will co-operate with the Respondents.

3. Appearing on behalf of the Respondents, the learned Government Advocate submits that the Disciplinary Proceedings will be concluded as expeditious as possible, after two of the witnesses are examined.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, this writ petition is disposed by directing the Respondents to complete the Disciplinary Proceedings preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
