O R D E R

The prayer sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the first respondent to give adequate Police Protection to the petitioner/ Company by effectively preventing the respondents 2 to 6 and their associates so as to enable the petitioner to run the industry with the willing workers, thus enabling free ingress and egress of men, material and vehicles to remove and transport the finished products from the petitioner's unit at S.F.No.578/3, D2, Thongutipalayam Village, Dharapuram Road, Tiruppur.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner is not present today. Heard, the learned counsel appearing for the first respondent.

It is seen from the records that a Police complaint has been given by the petitioner and a C.S.R was also issued on 12.06.2008 by the Inspector of Police, Avinashipalayam Police Station, and it is also seen that on 20.06.2008, an interim direction was issued to the first respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner's unit at S.F.No.578/3-D2, Thonguttipalayam Village, Dharapuram Road, Tiruppur, Coimbataore - 641 665, on payment of necessary charges, computed and intimated by the first respondent, so as to run the petitioner's unit peacefully with its staff and willing workers and thereby suitably prevent the respondents 2 to 6, their agents, men and outside supporters from assembling within the radius of 200 meters of the petitioner's premises, thus enabling the free ingress and egress of men, materials and vehicles.

4. On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent would submit that no complaint/petition is pending before the above said Police Station, since the matter pertains to the period 2008.

5. Based on the above submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Court is of the view, that the matter has become infructuous. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
