This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to transfer the investigation in Cr.No.15 of 2018 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Jayankondam Police Station, Ariyalur District to any other competent authority to conduct a free and fair investigation and to file a final report.
2. The petitioner's son had a tragic death in a road accident that occurred on 10.01.2018 and on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Cr.No.15 of 2018 has been registered on 12.01.2018. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the police have not been able to trace the offending vehicle, which is a two wheeler and which was responsible for the accident. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court for transfer of investigation.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the FIR was registered on 12.01.2018 and till date, the police have not been able to trace the offending vehicle.
5. In such view of the matter, this Court directs the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Jayankondam Sub Division to monitor the investigation in Jayankondam Police Station Cr.No.15 of 2018 and take all necessary steps to identify the offending vehicle, so that the family can claim compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act.
