Crl.O.P.No.16516 of 2024 T.V.THAMILSELVI, J.

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 11.06.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.168 of 2024 registered for the offence under Sections 294(b), 341, 397 & 506(ii) of IPC.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner/A1 is a habitual offender having 11 previous cases of a similar nature and as far as this case is concerned, the petitioner along with other accused waylaid the de facto complainant, abused him in filthy language and robbed a sum of Rs.500/- from him at knife point and also threatened him with dire consequences. He further submitted that the case is under investigation, therefore, if he is released on bail, there is every possibility of him absconding and not available for further investigation.
