Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 13.06.2016.

ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner claims to be a social activist and according to him, in Puliampatti Village, Pollachi Taluk, there are bogus voters numbering 38 and to remove their names, he had submitted a representation dated 13.06.2016 to the 1st respondent and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file the present writ petition.

Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and who would submit that under the auspices of State Election Commission, it is for the 2nd respondent to revise the electoral roll and admittedly, the State Election Commission has not been made a party in this writ petition and hence, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

prays for dismissal of this writ petition.

This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner either in his representation or in this writ petition, directs the 1st respondent or any person authorised by him under delegation, to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 13.06.2016 in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
