O R D E R

Heard Mr.K.Manikandan, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Vijayakumar, the learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. With consent of the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for disposal.

The grievance of the petitioner, in this case is that, though he is entitled to promotion, but, he is being illegally ignored, and in this regard, he has made a representation to the first respondent, the same having not been addressed to by the first respondent, he has filed this Writ Petition, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to consider his representation in accordance with law within a stipulated period.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the representation of the petitioner having not been disposed of yet, he has come to this Court filing this Writ Petition seeking the aforesaid prayer.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submits that the respondents shall have no objection to consider such representation, if the same is pending within a time frame, as directed by this Court.

Considering the aforesaid facts and the submissions made, especially, the submission of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, no useful purpose is going to be served by keeping the Writ Petition pending seeking a counter/reply affidavit from the respondents and as such, the same is disposed of at the stage of admission with a direction to the first respondent to take an informed and considered decision on the representation of the petitioner, dated 05.07.2018, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of this order, in accordance with law. However, the aforesaid order shall not be construed as a mandate of this Court to dispose of the representation in any particular manner. With the aforesaid order, this Writ Petition stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
