ORDER
The Criminal Original petition has been laid by the petitioner, seeking for a direction to the first respondent to remove his name from the History Sheet maintained on the file of the second respondent, based on the representation dated 02.11.2020.
2.According to the petitioner, he has been falsely implicated in Crime No.391 of 2018 and arrested and he has subsequently come out of the prison and learnt that his name has been included in the History Sheet on the file of second respondent viz., the Inspector of Police, J-2, Adayar Police Station, Chennai - 600 020 and inasmuch as he is not involved in any other cases warranting the inclusion of his name in the history sheet on the file of the second respondent and therefore, seeking for the deletion of his name from the history sheet, according to the petitioner, he has given a representation dated 02.11.2020 and inasmuch as the same has not been considered and disposed of by the first respondent, he has been necessitated to lay the criminal original petition.

3.At the time when the case is taken up for hearing, the Additional Public Prosecutor represented that the first respondent viz., The Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, Vepery, Chennai - 600 007 or the authority nominated by him may be directed to consider the representation given by the petitioner dated 02.11.2020 and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a specific time frame. 4.Only for the said relief, the petitioner has also come forward with the criminal original petition.

Considering the abovesaid factors in toto, I am of the considered view that in the fitness of things, if a suitable direction is given to the The Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, Vepery, Chennai - 600 007 to consider and dispose of the representation given by the petitioner dated 02.11.2020, the same would meet the ends of justice. 3/5
6.Accordingly, the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, Vepery, Chennai - 600 007 or the authority nominated by him is directed to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 02.11.2020 seeking for the deletion of his name from the History Sheet maintained with the Inspector of Police, J-2, Adayar Police Station, Chennai - 600 020 and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
