Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to shift/transfer the detenu P.Nagendran, aged 48 years (Life Convict No.1236) to Puzhal Central Prison at Chennai from the Central Prison at Vellore, enabling the detenu with adequate medical assistant at any Specialised Government/Private Hospitals at Chennai. ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU,J] The petitioner is the wife of one Mr.P.Nagendran, Life Convict No.1236, who has been lodged in Central Prison, Vellore.

According to the petitioner, Nagendran has fallen seriously ill and he needs immediate medical attention. Therefore, she has come up with this petition to transfer him to Puzhal Central Prison, Chennai, for better treatment. 3.

Today, when the Habeas Corpus Petition was taken up, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted a copy of the Proceedings of the Superintendent, Central Prison, Vellore, in No.1236/Tha.Ku.1/2016, dated 16.06.2016, wherein he has stated that considering the bad health condition of Nagendran, now, he has been shifted to the Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai and he is taken to Royapettah Government Hospital for treatment. It is further stated that he would be lodged in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai, until the treatment is over. 4.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner, therefore, submitted that no further relief is required in this Habeas Corpus Petition.

In view of the above, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed.
