ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.04.2026, seeking bail in STOR No.04 of 2026 registered for the offence under Sections 35, 35(b), 41, 56(b), 56(c), 56(d) of the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882 read with Section 9 of Timber Transit Rules, 1968 seeks bail. Page No.1 of 4

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner illegally transported prohibited item of redsandalwoods. Hence, the case. 3.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 4.Learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner and the quantity of the sandalwood involved in this case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
