ORDER

Heard Mr.S.Sethuraman, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.P.Tamil Mani, learned Standing counsel for the first respondent and Mr.M.Velmurugan, learned counsel for the second respondent and perused the materials available on record.

2. The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.06.2018, within a time frame.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a suitable direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.06.2018, seeking licence for the period from 01.04.2018 to 31.03.2021.

4. The learned counsel for the second respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.

5. In the light of the limited scope of prayer sought for in this writ petition and the submissions of the learned counsels on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 04.06.2018 on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to all necessary parties, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
