ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.P.Ayyaswamy, learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. The petitioner is challenging the communication dated 15.03.2007 issued by the second respondent. Under the said letter, a communication is made that the competent authority has accorded approval for recognition of the newly constituted body under the banner of SC/ST Employees Welfare Association of BSNL for a period of three months for the limited purpose of electing/selecting a regular body to function for the welfare of SC/ST employees in BSNL.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a social worker. The association is manned by converted Christians, who are not SC/ST, but BC.

4. The employees are not agitating in respect of the same. The petitioner is not even remotely concerned with BSNL or its association. If the employees of the BSNL are aggrieved, they can agitate. The petitioner cannot agitate with regard to the rights of the employees of the BSNL. Moreover, the challenge to the letter is after 15 years. The subsequent developments after 2007 are also not on record. In view of the above, no case for interference is made out. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 18.01.2024 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No sra
