ORDER
By consent of both parties, the present writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus for considering the petitioners' representation dated 22.08.2024 for issuance of joint patta in respect of Survey Nos.56/2A, 56/2B, 56/2C, 38/4A, 41/4, 38/2, 38/5 and 22/1A, Rangasamudram Village, Gudiyatham Taluk, Vellore District.
3. It is submitted that the subject properties were originally owned by one Narasimmalu Chetty, who died sometime in the year 1977. Chinnammal, wife of Narasimmalu Chetty, died some time in 1997, leaving behind four female children and three male children as legal heirs. The petitioners are the legal heirs of the female children of the said Narasimmalu Chetty. The said Narasimmalu Chetty is the grandfather of the petitioners. Page No.2 of 6
4. It is submitted that patta has been issued only in the name of the male legal heirs of Narasimmalu Chetty, namely, Govinda Chetty, Nandagopal and Gunasekaran. It is the case of the petitioners that being the female legal heirs of Narasimmalu Chetty, they ought to have been issued a joint patta along with the male legal heirs of Narasimmalu Chetty. It is in the above circumstances, the petitioners have taken out the representation dated 22.08.2024 to issue joint patta in respect of all the legal heirs, in terms of the legal heir certificate dated 04.02.2021.

It is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents that the above representation would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to all the legal heirs, including the male legal heirs, any other interested parties and the female legal heirs of the said Narasimmalu Chetty, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the uploaded copy of the order, which is accepted to by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners. 6. Recording the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader, the present writ petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law. There shall be no order as to costs.
