It appears that there are civil suits pending between the petitioner and the respondents 3 and 4. While so, it is the allegation of the petitioner that at the instance of respondents 3 to 9, respondents 1 and 2 are harassing the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

2. Heard Mr.R.Gururaj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader [Writ Criminal].

3. Mr.D.Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader [Writ Criminal], submitted that the petitioner is a tenant under the third respondent and there are civil cases pending between the parties before the civil Court.

In such view of the matter, the mandamus as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be granted as that would interdict the power of the police under Section 149 and Chapter XII of Cr.P.C. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as devoid of merits. No costs.
