The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay interest of 18% for the provident fund contribution amount of Rs.2,54,799/- from 13.12.2007 to 05.03.2025 i.e. from the date of resignation to date of the settlement and Contribution pension scheme amount of Rs.17,00,048/- from 30.06.2019 to 05.03.2025 i.e., from the date of retirement to the date of settlement of contribution pension scheme amount.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was joined as Assistant Engineer in the Respondent-Transport Corporation on 01.01.1991 and on attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service on 30.06.2019. The learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that there was a delay in settlement of provident fund contribution amount and the contribution pension scheme amount. The learned counsel would further submit that the petitioner is entitled for interest. In this connection, he has sent a representation to the 2nd respondent on 09.04.2025 and the same is pending with the 2nd respondent. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 2/5

2nd respondent would fairly submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation, within a reasonable time.

4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.04.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
