8. Venkatesh .. Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus to consider the petitioner's complaint dated 08.07.2023 and direct the 4th respondent to take immediate steps to prohibit publication / broadcast / telecast of a falsified information on 06.07.2023 concerning the petitioner and his family accordingly remove the entire contents and to take necessary action. ORDER

This petition has been filed for a direction to the fourth respondent to act upon the complaint given by the petitioner on 08.07.2023 and to prohibit 2/6

publications / broadcast of information concerning the petitioner and his family members.

2. When the matter came up for hearing on 12.07.2023, this Court passed the following:- "

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 6. 2.It is brought to the notice of this Court that based on the complaint made by the petitioner, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.164 of 2023. Similarly, based on the complaint made by one Vijayalakshmi, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.162 of 2023 and both these FIRs are now under investigation by the 6th respondent.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the 7th respondent is telecasting on a daily basis regarding the dispute which is now pending investigation and thereby, the name of the petitioner is being tarnished. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor shall take instructions in this regard and report before this Court.

4.Post this case under the same caption on 17.07.2023."

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, it is brought to the notice of this Court that already the concerned T.V Channel has stopped the publications / broadcast of the information regarding the petitioner and his 3/6

family members. In view of the same, the main grievance that was expressed by the petitioner has been satisfied.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that a case and counter is under investigation in Crime No.162 of 2023 and Crime No.164 of 2023 and that the investigation will be completed and a Final Report will be filed within a period of three months.

5. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation in the case and counter in Crime Nos.162 and 164 of 2023 and the Final Report shall be filed before the concerned jurisdictional Court within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. This Writ Petition is disposed off with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 24.07.2023 Index : yes/no Speaking order/Non-speaking order 4/6
