This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the 1st respondent to register the First Information Report as per 1/4

the order of the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Kodumudi, in C.M.P.No.1392 of 2024 dated 03.01.2025.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner belongs to Schedule Caste community. The petitioner had lodged a complaint before the police Officials against the respondents 2 and 3 who are the husband and mother-in-law of the petitioner for harassing the petitioner by stating her caste name and demanding dowry. Since no action was taken, the petitioner filed a petition before the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Kodumudi, in C.M.P.No.1392 of 2024 under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C. seeking direction to the police to register FIR. The same was allowed by order dated 03.01.2025. Despite the same, no FIR was registered. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that pending this O.P., the respondent police has registered FIR only for the offence under Section 498A IPC and that the offence under the SC/ST Act has been included.

4. However, since the FIR has already been registered, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.

5. After completion of investigation and filing of charge sheet, if the petitioner still aggrieved, she can work out her remedy in the manner known to law.
