Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for the records relating to the detention order passed by the second respondent pertaining to the order made in C3/D.O.No.31/2024, dated 20.06.2024 in detain the detenue under Section 2(b) of Tamil Nadu Act, 14 of 1982 as a bootlegger and quash the same and direct the respondent to produce the detenue Murugan Alias Kappal, son of Chennappan, aged about 45 years, who is detained at Central Prison, Vellore, before this Court and set him at liberty. Mr.E.Raj Thilak, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that the impugned order of detention has already been revoked by the competent Authority and thus, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken.
