Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents herein to permit celebration of annual festival of Sri Ayyanar Temple in Muttiam Village, Sankarapuram Taluk, Kallakurichi District between 21.7.2023 to 3.8.2023 by performing all traditional rituals by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.6.2023, within the time frame as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to conduct wholesome temple festival of Sri Ayyanar Temple in Muttiam Village, Sankarapuram Taluk, Kallakurichi District. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the third respondent has issued a proceedings yesterday (18.07.2023) and circulated a copy thereof.

3.The issue is all about one particular ritual that has to be performed tomorrow (20.07.2023).

4.Mr.S.J.Mohamed Sathik, learned Government Advocate now informs the Court that the Revenue Divisional Officer has convened a priest meeting.

5.If the petitioner has any serious issue as to the right of any group of people to perform a particular ritual, then he has to move the Civil Court for his remedy and not this Court.

6.The RDO/second respondent is now required to verify as to whether there is any customary right vested with any group of people for performing a particular ritual. Meantime, the Authorities are required to ensure there is no law and order problem on this issue. 7.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
