Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Declaration declaring that the Notice under Section 9(4) dated 27.03.1991 and consequential order in Na.Ka.1199/91/P, dated 30.09.1991 passed by the third respondent under Section 9(5) of the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1978 in respect of the lands to an 1 / 4

extent of 1295 Sq.Mt. (32 cents) out of 1850 Sq.Mt. belonging to the petitioner situated at SF No.127/6, Zamin Pallavaram, Alandur Taluk, Chengalpet District as illegal and non-est in law since the same stands abated consequent to the repeal of the Principal Act by the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repealing Act, 1999.

ORDER

When the Writ Petition was taken up for hearing on 20.12.2023, there was no representation for the petitioner and hence, in order to give an opportunity, the Writ Petition was directed to be listed after two weeks. When the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing today (11.03.2024), there is no representation for the petitioner, either in person or through counsel. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P. is closed.
