Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the body of the detained person Murugan @ Balamurugan, S/o.Manickam, aged 24 years before this Court, who is now detained at Central Prison, Salem, in pursuance of the order passed by the first respondent in S.C.No.44/2015 dated 21.12.2015 under Act 14/82 branding the detained person as Goonda, to call for the records, quash the same and set the detained person at liberty.

[Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J.] The petitioner, who is the father of the detenu, Murugan @ Balamurugan, Son of Manickam, aged about 24 years, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

passed by the 1st respondent dated 21.12.2015 against his son branding him as a "Goonda" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 [Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982].

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the 1st respondent as against the son of the petitioner dated 21.12.2015 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.619, dated 15.02.2016 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
