This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents to consider the representations made by petitioner on 24.04.2024 & 28.03.2025 wherein petitioner has sought for cancellation of patta that stands in the name of the respondents 3 to 5.
2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is going to be passed, notice to respondents 3 to 5 is dispensed with.

The case of the petitioner is he has purchased the property in his wife's name viz., Bakiyalakshmi vide sale deed dated 29.10.2012 registered as Document No.11003 of 2012 on the file of Sub Registrar Office, Ambattur. Petitioner's wife was originally the owner of the property comprised in New Survey No.68/6C in No.57, measuring an extent of 1333 sq.ft situated at Plot No.1, Sri Janakiram Nagar, Puthagaram, Ambattur. It is stated that the revenue records including the patta was mutated and stood in the name of his wife Bakiyalakshmi. A computerized patta has also been issued in Patta No.9899 by the Deputy Tahsildar (Land), Madhavaram Taluk. Chitta and adangal also stood in the name of his wife wherein reference was made to Survey No.68/6C. In the meanwhile, the said Bakiyalakshmi died intestate on 09.01.2020.
It is stated that petitioner is the legal heir of Bakiyalakshmi and also placed reliance upon the Legal Heir Certificate dated 14.02.2022. While reviewing the revenue records, it was found that the patta for the subject land has been issued vide Patta No.14672 in the name of respondents 3 to 5, who according to petitioner are complete strangers and have no right, title or interest over the subject land.
thus submitted representation dated 24.04.2024 followed by representation dated 28.03.2025 to the official respondents seeking cancellation of patta issued in the joint names of respondents 3 to 5. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

At the outset, it was submitted by learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 & 2 that the representation dated 28.03.2025, made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the concerned respondent, to consider the representation dated 28.03.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy,
after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner, respondents 3 to 5 and any other interested persons / rival claimants, if any. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any view with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law.
