This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing second respondent to act upon the application submitted by petitioner on 12.05.2022 wherein petitioner is seeking for transfer of patta in his name and sub-division with respect to the subject property.

2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he has purchased the land comprised in New Survey No.4/11 measuring an extent of 0-84.50 ares, 0-56 cents and its 0-22.68 ares and undivided common one share out of two parts situated at T-Palayam Village, Kurinjipadi Taluk, Cuddalore District

and the same was registered as Document No.838 of 2022 on the file of Kullanchavadi, Sub Registrar. Petitioner had taken out an online application on 12.05.2022 for transfer of patta and sub-division of the subject property. Petitioner has again applied for transfer of patta on 06.06.2022 before second respondent along with necessary documents and fees and the same is stated to be pending. In view of inaction, a representation was submitted on 08.11.2024 to the respondents. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents that they will consider the petitioner's application within a period of four weeks, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.

5. In view thereof, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the concerned respondent to consider petitioner's application dated 12.05.2022 with respect to transfer of patta and sub-division of the

property and pass appropriate orders after putting petitioner and any other interested parties / rival claimants, if any, on notice within a period of four weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any view with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
