This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.23 of 2021 on the file of the 1st Respondent Police.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent and the learned counsel for the 2nd respondent.

3. On the complaint given by the 2nd respondent/defacto complainant, a case registered in Crime No.23 of 2021 against the petitioners / accused for the offences under Sections 498 (A), 323, 384, 451, 506 (2) of IPC and Section 4 of the Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

4. On perusal of records, it is seen that earlier the 2nd respondent herein has filed a petition in Crl.O.P.No.16635 of 2022 before this Court seeking a direction to the respondent Police to file final report in the very same Crime No.23 of 2021 and in which direction has been given to the respondent 2/5

Police to file final report within a period of four months. Hence, it is reliably learnt that investigation has already been completed and the charge sheet is pending for approval of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

5. In view of the present status of the case, I feet it is appropriate to direct the 1st respondent Police to complete the formalities of obtaining the aforesaid opinion and file the charge sheet within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 23.11.2022 vum Index:yes/No Speaking order / Non speaking order 3/5
