ORDER

Since, separate court fee has been paid by the petitioners, W.M.P.No.23955 of 2026 filed seeking to permit the petitioners to join and file a single Writ Petition, is ordered as prayed for.

2. The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2025 and reduce the license fee by 50% on account of the change in policy with regard to the collection of empty bottles by TASMAC.

3. The petitioners are the licensees for the sale of eatables and collecting empty bottles in the bars which are attached to the IMFL shops run by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Ltd. (for short 'TASMAC'). They submitted a representation dated 06.12.2025 to the respondents requesting to reduce the license fee by 50% in view of the policy decision taken by the 1st respondent with regard to collection of empty liquor bottles by the TASMAC. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. Learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

6. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties.

7. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, other connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
