ORDER

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 354 A, 376, 450 and 511 of I.P.C. in connection with Crime No.30 of 2020, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that apart from the above said offfence, the criminal case was registered against the petitioner under Section 3(1)(x) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

3. Considering the nature of offences alleged against the petitioner and also considering the fact that anticipatory bail cannot be granted in respect of offences punishable under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, this Court feels it appropriate to direct the petitioner to surrender before the concerned learned Special Court for exclusive trial of cases registered under Scheduled Casts and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Villupuram within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

this order and file a bail application and on filing such bail application, the learned Judge is directed to consider the bail application of the petitioners on merits and pass appropriate orders on the same day of their surrender. The petitioners are directed to comply with the provision under Section 15(A)(5) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

6.Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
