Common Prayer Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to fix the seniority on par with the 1st batch based on the marks secured by the petitioner, in the Police training college as per Rule by considering the representation of the petitioner, dated 09.12.2017, 31.01.2018, 26.03.2018, 10.04.2018, within a reasonable time. : Mr.S.Sivakumar For Respondents in all W.Ps. : Mr.V.Kadhirvelu Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER Heard Mr.S.Sivakumar, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, the learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. With consent of the learned counsel on either side, these Writ Petitions are taken up for disposal.

The petitioners have come to this Court seeking issuance of Writ, in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to fix the seniority on par with the 1st batch based on the marks secured by them in the Police Training College as per Rule by considering their representations within a reasonable time.

At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that, this Court, in similar facts and situation, passed an order granting the relief, (as sought for herein) in W.P.No.14886 of 2018, vide its order dated 21.06.2018 in the case of (S.Chandramohan Vs. the Secretary to Govt. Chennai and another), the photostat copy of which, has been annexed at page No.37 of the typed-set of papers filed in support of these Writ Petitions for reference of this Court. He, therefore, prays that in view of the order passed by this Court in regard to an identical issue, similar order could be passed in the present Writ Petitions as well.

Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents has no objection in following the order cited by the learned counsel for the petitioners. 5.
Considering the nature of relief sought for by the petitioners and the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merit of the representations of the petitioners in any manner, disposes of these Writ Petition with a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to take an informed and considered decision on the representations of the petitioners, dated 09.12.2017, 31.01.2018, 26.03.2018 and 10.04.2018, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is no other legal impediment for such disposal and communicate the decision taken to the petitioners. However, in the circumstances of the case, there shall be no order as to costs.
