(Judgment was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam J.) The writ appeal has been instituted challenging the writ order dated 23.06.20242 in WP.No.16878 of 2016. The writ petitioner is the appellant and Page No.1 of 4

filed writ petition seeking a declaration that the land acquisition proceedings became lapsed under Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, [hereinafter referred to as '2013 Act'].

2. The only issue to be considered is whether the twin conditions contemplated under Section 24(2) of the 2013 Act has been complied with or not?

3. In this regard, the Writ Court made a finding that the award was passed on 29.12.1995. Compensation amount of Rs.77,205 /- deposited on 22.07.1997 at Sub Treasury. The petitioner has not initiated any steps to withdraw the award amount from the Revenue deposit. Possession was taken by the Special Tahsildar, Adi Dravidar Welfare, Perambalur District and the name of the owner has been mutated in the revenue records as "Adi Dravidar Colony". The lands acquired were allotted to Adi Dravidar familes and that being the factum, the appellant has not established that she is entitled for any relief under Section 24(2) of the 2013 Act.

4. Thus, the Writ Appeal is devoid of merits and stands dismissed. No costs.
