ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to regularize the petitioner's services as Data Entry Operator with effect from 13.04.2023 with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner was appointed as a Data Entry Operator on 01.04.2002 in the erstwhile, Tiruchirapalli City Corporation. After rendering 24 years of service, the 3rd respondent sent a proposal to the 1st respondent seeking to regularize the petitioner and other similarly placed persons. However, the said proposal was rejected on the ground stating that there is no post of Data Entry operator available in the Service Rules. Therefore, the petitioner filed W.P. (Md) No.14698 of 2014 before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court,

which was dismissed on 20.08.2019. Likewise, similar writ petitions were dismissed by the Madurai Bench in W.P.(Md) Nos.15295 and 16131 of 2024. Aggrieved by the said order, writ appeals were preferred in W.A(Md) Nos.897 and 898 of 2019. The Division Bench had allowed the Writ Appeals on 05.12.2025 and directed the respondents therein to regularize the writ petitioners from 13.04.2023 in the post of Data Entry Operator sanctioned by the Government. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 17.01.2025 to the respondents seeking regularization of his services. Since no orders have been passed on the petitioner's representation till date, the petitioner is constrained to file the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought in this writ petition, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1strespondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.01.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 18-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SRN To
