Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Section 226 of Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.12.2020 extending the licence period issued by the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.1994/2019/E1 dated 12.12.2020 in respect of removing the sewerage and drainage waste within Ward 1 to 21 of the Pammal Municipality for the year 2019-20 by another six months.

This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.12.2020, wherein, the petitioner has sought for extension of the licence period granted by the 2nd respondent by proceedings dated 12.12.2019 in respect of removing the sewerage and drainage waste within the Wards 1 to 21 of the Pammal Municipality for the year 2019-2020, atleast by six months.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
as the prayer made herein has become infructuous, nothing survives for adjudication and hence, the writ petition may be closed.
3. Conceding the aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel for the respondents, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner already submitted an application seeking compensation, which is pending before the 2nd respondent, for consideration.
4. Recording the aforesaid submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition is closed. However, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the application, if any, filed by the petitioner seeking compensation, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
