The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.3.2022 to register the settlement deed without insisting the original previous document.
2. The petitioner submitted a settlement deed for registration and the said settlement deed was returned on the ground that the petitioner has not produced the original title document.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is in possession of certified copy of the said document and he will produce the same for registration.
4. There is no impediment for the registering authority to verify the certified copy of the title document and accordingly, proceed with the registration. The registering authority is empowered to verify the genuinity of the said certified copy of the document, if at all produced by a person seeking registration.
5. This being the factum, the petitioner is at liberty to submit the certified copy of the title document before the second respondent and the second respondent on verification of the same, shall proceed with the registration by following the procedures as contemplated. The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of (4)four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
