Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari calling for the records of the fourth respondent relating to the impugned order/proceedings bearing reference number as Form 9 dated 25.09.2021 and quash in so far as the fifth respondent is concerned and whose name is available in Serial number 2 of the said order/proceedings as illegal, arbitrary and devoid of merits.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner seeks a direction for the rejection of the nomination of the fifth respondent for the post of President of Perumbakkam Village Panchayat, Vanur Taluk of the Villupuram District.

2. It is too late in the day to entertain the petition, particularly since the nomination has been filed and accepted. However, the petitioner is left free to make a representation to the State Election Commission in accordance with law.

3. In the event the fifth respondent is declared elected, it will be open to the petitioner to challenge the election in accordance with law.

4. W.P.No.21522 of 2021 is disposed of without going into the merits of the allegations. W.M.P.Nos.22738 and 22740 of 2021 are closed. There will be no order as to costs.
