ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter viz., Dhanalakshmi, aged about 19 years, before this Hon'ble Court and to set her at liberty forthwith.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Dhanalakshmi went missing from 20.09.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.
3. Today, Mr.M.Britto Selvaraj, Sub-Inspector of Police, S6 Sankar Nagar Police Station, is present.
4. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based on the complaint of the petitioner, a case https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
in Sankar Nagar P.S. Crime No.633 of 2021 was registered for 'woman missing' and in the course of enquiry, it came to light that Dhanalakshmi was in love with one Sakthivel and had eloped with him.
5. It is seen that, even according to the petitioner, Dhanalakshmi is aged 19 years.
6. In such view of the matter, this Court directs the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pallavaram, to supervise the investigation in Sankar Nagar P.S. Crime No.633 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the learned Judicial Magistrate II, Tambaram, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders, with regard to custody, in accordance with law.
With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
