Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue patta in respect of the lands measuring about 2907 square feet in S.No.60 and 14032 square feet in S.No.65 situated at Gandhi Road, Arani Town, following the entry in the "A" Register and other revenue records. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to issue patta in respect of the lands measuring about 2907 square feet in S.No.60 and 14032 square feet in S.No.65 situated at Gandhi Road, Arani Town.
2. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property belonged to the petitioner temple and patta was issued by the Jageerthar in the year 1960. It is further stated that in the year 1960 itself entry had been made 2/5
in the old Revenue records that S.No.60 and 65 belonged to the petitioner Temple. It is asserted by the petitioner that the temple has been in possession and enjoyment of the lands in the above mentioned survey numbers. The petitioner temple represented by Hereditary Trustee submitted a representation to the third respondent on 20.03.2024 seeking issuance of patta in the name of the temple. The said representation has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered, on its own merits, within a time frame fixed by this Court.
4. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2024 and pass final orders, on its own merits, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
