Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the bill amounts for the works carried out by the petitioner in the Village coming under Kattankulathur Union, St.Thomas Mount Union, Thiruporur Union of Chengalpattu District and Kundrathur Union of Kancheepuram District in respect of maintenance works and tender works during the period 2018, 2019 & 2020 in accordance with M-Book and other records along with interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the delay in payment, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner dated 07.01.2022, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to settle the bill amounts due for him, in respect of the work carried out by them in the years 2018, 2019 & 2020.

2. According to the petitioner, he is a registered contractor, carried out work under District Rural Development Agency in Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram Districts. The petitioner carried out various works alloted to him in the years 2018, 2019 & 2020 in Urapakkam Panchayat, Nedunkundram Panchayat, Mannivakkam Panchayat, Vandalur Panchayat, which come under Katankulathur Union, Chengalpattu District. Similarly, the petitioner also carried out number of works in Natarasanpattu Panchayat, Kavanur Panchayat, Karasankal Panchayat and Periyapanicherry Panchayat, which come under Kundrathur Union in Kancheepuram District.
3. It is specific case of the petitioner that the respective Panchayat Unions have not settled the bill submitted by the petitioner for the works completed by him in accordance with law and as per the the specification.
4. The petitioner submitted various representation to the respondents. However, till now the amounts due to the petitioner has not been settled.

5. Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

In view of the limited prayer made by the writ petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.01.2022 on merits in accordance with law and pass final orders,within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
