Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Government Counsel takes notice for the respondents. The issue that is involved in the present writ petition pertains to the application of G.O.Ms.No.525 dated 29.12.1997 and G.O.Ms.No.217 dated 20.06.2019, which of course is confined only to Government Schools, for arriving at the teacher-pupil ratio for every academic year and for fixation of staff strength by taking into consideration the entire student strength in the English Medium sections from Standards 6 to 10. The matter has been considered in appeal by the Division Bench of this Court in a batch of writ appeals in W.A.(MD) Nos.76 of 2019 etc., and an order has been passed on 31.03.2021. It will be relevant to take note of Para 91.10 to 91.13 and 94.1 of the judgment. The petitioner has made a representation in this regard and is seeking for the relief in line with the judgment passed in the batch of writ appeals.

2. It is also seen from the order passed by the Division Bench that the appeals are being kept pending to issue continuing mandamus and the authorities have been directed to file a compliance report. The matter is listed for hearing on 08.11.2021.

3. Before issuing any directions in this writ petition, it will be more beneficial to take note of the compliance report that is going to be filed on 08.11.2021. Thereafter, based on the orders passed by the Division Bench, necessary orders can be passed in this writ petition also.
