The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 04.02.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 148, 341, 324, 294(b), 307, 302 read with Section 149 of IPC in Crime No.524 of 2015 on the file of the respondent.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner was arrested on 18.02.2025 based on the NBW issued on 12.09.2024. There are totally 10 accused in this case and the petitioner has been regularly appearing before the trial prior to the trifurcation of the district. After trifurcation, the case was assigned to II Additional Sessions Judge, Arakknam and petitioner's advocate had not informed about the same to the petitioner.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) strongly opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner stating that the offence took place in the year 2015 and there are totally 13 accused and the case got split up at three instances and this case is a split up case and 10 accused are facing trial and since, the accused are absconding one after another, the copies could not be served. He further submitted that the petitioner has previous cases and he is not new to the Court proceedings.

4. Considering the fact that the case is pending from the year 2015 and there is no progress in the trial due to absence of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
