O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent-Police to file a final report in Crime No.596/2020, on the file of the respondent police and to expedite the trial within the time as stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. On a perusal of the records, it is seen that the respondent-Police registered a case in Crime No.596 of 2020 against the accused persons and subsequently the same was closed. The petitioner has filed a petition under Section 173 Cr.P.C., in Crl.M.P.No.1151 of 2024 before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Hosur, seeking rejection of final report filed by the respondent Police in Crime No.596 of 2020. The learned Magistrate vide order dated 08.04.2024, directed the respondent-Police to investigate the case and file a report. Even then, the respondent Police has not filed a charge sheet. Hence, the petitioner is constrained to file

this criminal original petition.

4. In view of the above, the respondent-Police is directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report/charge sheet in Crime No.596/2020 preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. . With the abovesaid direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
