ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the Petitioner for promotion to the post of Additional Director and to accommodate the Petitioner in his Parent Department of Rural Development Department by taking into account of petitioner's date of Retirement, on 31.07.2025 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2024 and 19.05.2025.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Assistant Director in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department by G.O. No. 58 following a High Court order and was later promoted to Joint Director. However, for the past 13 years, no further promotion has been granted despite his name being recommended since 2022. Meanwhile, his
junior, Mr. M. Santhosh Kumar, was promoted as Additional Director on 30.05.2024. Though a vacancy existed, the petitioner was not accommodated. He has been transferred 16 times in his 18 years of service, the last being on 27.11.2024 to a post expiring before his retirement on 31.07.2025. Despite submitting representations on 29.11.2024 and 19.05.2025 seeking promotion and re-posting to his parent department for pension processing, no response has been received. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition. 3.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has given a representation dated 19.05.2025, seeking repatriation to the parent Department and also seeking for due promotion. The said representation is pending with the first respondent.

At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that Principal Secretary to the Government, Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department, has already forwarded the petitioner's representation to the Commissioner, Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj on 29.05.2025. In view of the same, they will consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court deem it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2025 and pass order on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
