ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Special Court for SC/ST Act Cases, Ariyalur, to consider the bail application of the petitioners concerned in Cr.No.165 of 2026 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Vikkiramangalam Police Station, Ariyalur District.

2. It is case in counter. It is seen that the petitioners and the defacto complainant are belong to same village. There was a dispute with regard to conduct of temple festival and the participation of the defacto complainant, who

is a scheduled caste community. The petitioners are youngsters and some of them are college students. With regard to the participation in the temple festival there was altercation between the parties. Hence the complaint.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material records of the case.

4. In view of the specific bar under Section 18 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and also taking into consideration the possibility of misusing the pious intention of the Parliament against innocent persons, there shall be a direction to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Special Court for SC/ST Act Cases, Ariyalur, to consider the petitioners' bail application(s), preferably on the same day of their surrender, in connection with Crime No.165 of 2026 on the file of the second respondent Police and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the victims under Section 15-A of the SC/ST (POA) Act, 1989. The petitioners shall surrender before the jurisdictional Court within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
